The Harbour Authority of the Bay of Algeciras grants the maxima to its priority to the development and maintenance of the demanded safety measures in a harbor enclosure, being at the top of the European Ports.
The harbour enclosure of Algeciras has a perimetral closing with three accesses (North, South and central). The harbour enclosure is controlled permanently by the Harbour Police by means of a closed circuit of television (CCTV) equipped with 95 connected cameras of monitoring through optical fiber, located in all the harbour and coordinated enclosure from the Control center.
Also, in fulfillment of the requirements of the International treaty for the Security of the Human Life in the Sea, the facilities of the
Port Bay of Algeciras have adopted the Code the Harbour International for the Protection of Ships and Facilities (PBIB), to which the project of initiative of Security of Contenedores is united (CSI), supported by the U.S.A., with the intention of fighting against the illegal traffic and preventing any activity with terrorist character.
Finally to emphasize the Agreement of Collaboration signed between the APBA and the Provincial Partnership Against Fires and Rescue of the Province of Cadiz, to offer the best service in this matter to its Harbour Community.
